June brought a little bit of everything—service, technology, summer views, baseball, and one big commencement weekend. Night Owls volunteered at a San Francisco food bank, talked tech and career pathways in the Bay Area, cruised Lady Bird Lake in Austin, connected over baseball in Minneapolis, and celebrated graduates in Louisville. Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make June another memorable month for the WGU alumni community.

Featured Event Recap
Commencement Weekend in Louisville | June 4–6
Louisville was full of Night Owl pride as WGU alumni, university leaders, and community partners came together for a memorable commencement weekend. The celebration began Thursday with an inspiring Elevating Impact Event recognizing Distinguished Graduates, valued partners, and powerful stories of service, resilience, and opportunity—including honorees Korede Ola and Erin Miller and a scholarship recipient who shared how WGU helped open new pathways toward their goals.
The festivities continued Friday with an Alumni Celebration at Churchill Downs before Saturday’s commencement ceremonies at the KFC Yum! Center, where 1,244 graduates were celebrated. Representing 43 states and ranging in age from 16 to 66, this group showed the WGU spirit that makes commencement weekends so special.
