January Is National Mentoring Month!
At WGU, we know the transformative power of mentorship, and we’re proud to celebrate National Mentoring Month this January. Recently, our Regional Vice President, Kim Estep, was featured on a local news channel discussing WGU’s commitment to mentoring and the impact it has on student success. You can watch the full interview here.

Reflect for a moment—what was having a mentor like for you? Now, imagine the impact you could have on someone else’s journey. WGU alumni have the opportunity to give back by becoming mentors, guiding others with the wisdom and experience they’ve gained.
We also want to thank our incredible graduates for embracing mentorship through the Ask a Grad platform. So far, hundreds of questions have been answered by WGU alumni, demonstrating the true spirit of support and community among Night Owls. When you take the time to respond to these questions, you’re acting as a mentor and making a meaningful difference in someone’s life. Here’s what one user, Ron, had to say about Ask a Grad:
"This is one of the best tools I have found at WGU. Like having access to a selection of mentors who have been exactly where you are and are now exactly where you want to be. It's great hearing how they made that journey, and getting their guidance on the steps and missteps to watch out for."
Thank you for helping us make mentorship a cornerstone of the WGU experience. Whether through platforms like Ask a Grad or in other ways, every act of guidance you provide strengthens the Night Owl community.
